O Lord (2004)
O Lord, whene'er I stumble on my way
Grant that I might know the power of thy love,
That I might bear to face another day
Sustained by thy beloved self above.
For e'en when in that depthless pit I fall,
When life is dark, consumed by endless night,
Thou standest steadfast, O, the Lord of all:
The beacon shining everlasting light.
And when I err and fall back into sin
I know thou shalt be there for me always
And as the Holy Spirit enters in
To my soul; to thee my prayers I raise.
And when despair sought to overwhelm me
Thou sentest angels to stand by my side,
To steer and teach me as I learn to be
A faithful servant of thy Son, my guide.
So let me lift my falt'ring voice in praise
Of all the marv'llous works of thy domain,
That I might sing thy glory all the days
Of my allotted span that yet remain.
