Geograph
I discovered the existence of Geograph in April 2007. I'm still not sure whether this was a very good or a very bad thing!
Briefly, the point of the Geograph project, which is sponsored by the Ordnance Survey, is to produce representative photographic evidence of every 1km by 1km gridsquare in the UK. (It may at some point expand outside the UK).
