Copy-editing and type-setting

A service I can usefully offer is copy-editing and type-setting of books and/or articles, particularly in LaTeX. I have successfully performed this task for three books: two computer science text-books on Prolog (including the preparation of replacement figures) by William Clocksin; and one book on academic governance by G.R. Evans.

I am also willing to proof-read and correct the English of theses, dissertations and journal articles. However, as I will generally require to understand the sense of the work I am trying to correct, my rates may be commensurately higher than those of proof-readers who will merely correct the syntax of the language used.

Furthermore, I have a certain amount of experience in technical writing; in writing users' manuals for various pieces of software (including a complex piece of finite element software) in both English and French; and in writing detailed but easy-to-understand instructions for new and non-technical users of services as disparate as Windows XP and mobile telephones.

For further details of these services, or to suggest an editing/writing project for which you think I would be suitable, please email me.
